Operations Activity

Operation's main role is to guarantee smoothness on all procedures occurring after crude oil cargoes are sold by Trading up to their delivery at load port.

Any cargo-related issues including but not limited to vessel approvals, documentation issuance, follow-up with Finance regarding payments and claims (demurrage, quantity, and quality) are timely handled. The department acts as the main link between clients and Terminals. Sonangol, as the middle man ensures that all parties best interests are kept as no direct relationship between both ends of the chain, is allowed.

Teamwork is the main motto for the Operations department Our clients and Terminals location is spread throughout the globe and urgent issues are handled on a 24/7 basis with the collaboration of our sister overseas offices (London and Singapore).

Training is also carried out regularly and is mostly administered to Sonangol EP's Commercial department personnel. During their training period, our co-workers are coached through the daily operational routine and encouraged to take charge of crude oils cargoes from start to end. We strive to have crude oil operators with strong theoretical and practical knowledge.

Terminal lifting coordination is performed on behalf of Sonangol P&P for Blocks 3 and 4. This task is mostly related to supervising the Lifting programs issuance as well as any constraints that might affect published programs. The contact between Terminal Operator and Lifters is routed through Sonangol USA Company Operations.
